Linden, to make a shrine of the heart & mind —

Linden is a sacred heart-medicine that nourishes the relationship between the fields of our heart, lungs, and mind. Linden brings these body centers into serene resonance.
 
Linden helps us soften, calming high-pitched anxiety and emotional turmoil, and is a beautiful companion for those who hold tension or vibratory fear in the heart and mind. Linden offers respite and a place to clear trauma by offering sweetness, coolness, and clarity. An uncloaking of the heart-space. To be empowered in immense softness. To move with grace. To understand that your own body is sacred and worthy of reverence and devotion.

When I dream with Linden, I see a tiny ceremony of bees flying in a golden infinity shape—a living lemniscate—above a woman’s head. I see a garland of nearly heart-shaped Linden leaves, flowers, bracts and honeybees upon her head like a crown. I understand the relationship between the garland and the lemniscate of honeybees to be a kind of written script. In this way, Linden revealed to me that this essence also nourishes the relationship between poetry and the Earthen divine. Linden infuses our writing with a kind of living golden thread, conduit between the mind, spirit, and mystery—that most intimate, divine unknown.
 
Linden reminds us that poetry, as an organic and diaphanous being, can move (between) worlds. Linden welcomes levitation of thought.
 
In another conversation with Linden, this golden infinity shape of honeybees transformed into two women linked, arms crossed at the forearms, standing in front of one another gently holding on to one another’s wrists. The women made a lemniscate shape between their bodies. Then they began to twirl and lifted, luminously, effortlessly, into the air. All around was the presence of golden hour light. Between these two women I felt: softness, exchange, an undulation between the fields of their hearts, lungs and minds, the scent of Linden honey and the sea. Linden inspires heart-centered connection and gentle nervous system regulation. I believe this essence can also be shared in ceremonial circles as a kind of amulet to nourish the bonds and visioning/mirroring potential among those in circle together.
